The Son А. П. and М. В. Волконских, Highness Prince. Studied at the Drawing school Society for the encouragement of artists in St. Petersburg from Н. П. Химоны; the National school of fine arts in Paris in Э. Лорана. He took lessons from his mother, the artist М. В. Волконской (nee. Loginyou). In childhood and youth traveled with his parents through Europe.

After the October revolution along with his parents emigrated to Italy, and later settled in a suburb of Paris Saint-Клу. He painted landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes.

Exhibited in the salons: Independent (1925-1948, with interruptions), the Tuileries (until 1932), Autumn (up to 1948). Together with his mother has held exhibitions in galleries "Bernheim" (1921), "Charpentier" (1929), in the workshop of Saint-Клу near Paris (1929). His personal exhibitions were held in Paris galleries: "La Boëtie" (1930), "La Renaissance" (1932), "Charpentier" (1938), "de l'elysée" (1938). Participated in exhibitions of Russian artists in the galleries "d Alignan" (1931), La Renaissance" (1932), Prague (1935). Held a retrospective exhibition in Kengalla in Dusseldorf (1954).

In 1965 купил estate Cardale in North Brittany, where the last decades of his life was engaged in the creation of a Botanical garden.

his Works are in the Museum of modern art of Paris.
