he Graduated from vocational school in Libau (1914). From 1914 he lived in Petrograd. He studied at Petrograd state free art-учебных workshops — VKhUTEMAS — Vhuteine (1918-1925) В. И. Шухаева. In 1925 he completed a thesis "Young Leninists", which debuted at the exhibition of final works of students of the Leningrad Academy of arts in Leningrad (1925).

he Painted landscapes, portraits, genre scenes, Nudes. The author works: "the Skier" (1928), "Harvest" (1929), "father and Son" (1929), "the Model" (1930). A member and Exhibitor Association "Circle of artists" (1926-1932).

Taught at schools, clubs, factories, workers ' schools of the Leningrad state University and Leningrad state project Institute. А. И. Герцена and also the Latvian school and College (from 1920).
