Painter, graphic artist, ceramist

Studied at St-Петербурге (Petrograd) in the Studio М. Д. Бернштейна at the Drawing school of the Society for the encouragement of arts (the beginning 1910-х), used the advice П. П. Чистякова (1913 – 1914), visited the Studio С. М. Зейденберга (1915). He studied at the Central school of technical drawing of Baron А. Л. Штиглица (1915 – 1918), Petrograd state free art educational workshops — VKhUTEMAS (1918 – 1923) К. С. Петрова-Водкина. He took lessons of painting on porcelain in С. В. Чехонина (1920 – 1921).

he Lived in Petrograd (Leningrad). Worked as a tour guide at the Russian Museum (1926 – 1928). He painted landscapes, genre scenes and allegorical compositions. In the 1930 – 50-е engaged in creative work sporadically; returned to active artistic activity in the late 1950-х. The author of picturesque landscapes series: "a Summer garden" (1924), "Crimea" (1936), "Carpathians" (1959 – 1960); graphic series: "the Dnieper" (1930 – 1931; charcoal, watercolor, ink), "don-Кихот" based on the novel by Cervantes (1963 – 1964; lithograph), "the Nose" based on the novel Н. В. Гоголя (1965, lithograph).

In 1941 participated in the preparation of the collections of the Hermitage for the evacuation in Sverdlovsk. In 1942 he left the siege to Sverdlovsk. He participated in painting of railway stations in Sverdlovsk and Nizhny Tagil (1943 – 1954). In 1945 he returned to Leningrad.

From 1924 — participant of exhibitions (exhibition of young artists in Leningrad). Member of-учредитель and Exhibitor Association "Circle of artists" (1927, 1928, 1929 — London); the member of the Association "October" (1928 – 1930), LOSH (1932). Exhibited: "Modern Leningrad artistic groups" (1928 – 1929), 1-й citywide exhibition of fine arts (1930), "Artists of the RSFSR for XV years" (1932), "Woman in socialist construction" (1934), works by Leningrad artists (1936, 1940, 1952, 1957, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1963, 1964) in Leningrad; reporting of works by artists, seconded to the regions of the industrial building and collective farms (1931) in Moscow; exhibition of painting, sculpture and graphics by artists of Omsk region dedicated to the 25th-й anniversary of the great October Socialist revolution in Omsk (1943); of works by Sverdlovsk artists in Sverdlovsk (1945).

he Taught at the art studios of Leningrad oblast (1930 – 1941), the Sverdlovsk art College (1943-1944).
