he Studied at the Odessa art school, then — Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the Imperial Academy of arts in St. Petersburg (1906-1913), in the sculpture Studio В. А. Беклемишева. In 1913 for the sculpture "Daphnis and Chloe" received the title of artist.

Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd). Worked in the field of easel sculpture; created genre scenes and portraits. The author figures and sculptural groups: "the Hunger" (1907), "the Hunt" (1912), "the Treasure" (1914, 1-я prize. А. И. Куинджи), "After the battle" (1915), "Protection" (1916, 1-я prize at the competition of the Imperial Academy of arts), "Prometheus" (1917, prize at the competition of the Society for the encouragement of arts); portraits В. Ф. Комиссаржевской (1910, figure), И. И. Бродского (1913), И. Е. Репина (1916), П. В. Самойлова in the role of hamlet (1917), А. М. Горького (1917-1918), К. И. Чуковского (1918) and others. Served as 1-го Chairman of the professional Union of art workers (Arabic).

Participated in the implementation of the plan of monumental propaganda, under which executed the monuments: "the Great (Red) Metalist" (1918, not preserved), В. Володарскому (1918, not preserved), "leisure workers" (1920, not preserved), "emancipation of labour" (1920, did not survive); the monument project К. Либкнехту and Р. Люксембург In 1919, for the composition "worker and peasant" was awarded 1-й prize at the competition "the Great Russian revolution".

From 1907 — participated in exhibitions. Exhibited at the Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1907, 1911, 1913-1916), exhibition of works of art in favor of persons with disabilities-поляков (1916), society of travelling art exhibitions (1916, 1917). A member and Exhibitor: the Jewish society for the encouragement of arts (1917, 1918).

was shot in the Civil war for obvineniyu espionage in favor of Poland.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Russian Museum.
