Painter, draftsman, watercolorist, engraver

he Worked as a painter of the Royal porcelain manufactory in Berlin (1796-1803). Executed landscapes, views of cities; worked in watercolor, was engaged in etching. Species wrote gouache for the Prussian Royal court.

From 1809 by order of Friedrich Wilhelm III lived in Russia. In 1809-1815 (with breaks) — in Livonia: created a series of views of the environs of Riga. At the end and the beginning of 1810-х (about 1812) and 1815 (1816 ?) up to 1823 he lived in St. Petersburg, completed a number of watercolors depicting views and architectural landmarks of the city, its suburbs (Pavlovsk). Probably he had a Studio in St. Petersburg.

In 1823 he returned to Berlin. Court painter Friedrich Wilhelm III (1825). Exhibited at exhibitions of the Berlin Academy of arts (1800, 1804, 1830, 1840). The artist's father-акварелиста Edward Bart (1802–?).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, among them — State Hermitage Museum, State Russian Museum, State Museum of history St.-Петербурга, national Museum А. С. Пушкина in St. Petersburg, the State Museum А. С. Пушкина in Moscow and other.
