he Lived in Moscow. In the early 1920-х went to the pike. Worked in the Art Department of the First exemplary printing house (1920-1922). In 1920-50-е designed books for Giza, Goslitizdat, Detgiz, Uchpedgize: "Lenka in the village" М. С. Барщевой (1927), "peasant Songs" С. Д. Дрожжина (1929), "Stories" А. М. Горького, "Nuwati: poem about Mordva" Д. И. Морского (both — 1930), "Primer" А. В. Янковской (1938, together with Д. П. Комаровым, З. Е. Пичугиной), "the Green Mare" (1945) and "malachite box" (1947) П. П. Бажова "the Battalion of Boris Ivanovich" А. И. Шарова (1945), The asterisk И. Д. Василенко (1951) and others. Executed illustrations for the magazines "Ogonyok", "Farmer", "Guide", "Murzilka", "Friendly guys". Was engaged in ex-libris.

he Worked as a poster artist: "Resinates. Galoshes" (1925), "Children — joy of the Soviet family, the future of our country" (1940), "Increase the output of food products, improve the quality!" (1946).

Created genre compositions, landscapes, portraits, still lifes. The author of the watercolors: "a Cloudy day" (1937), "collective farm" (1938), "the Children gather berries" (1947); paintings: "Sports" (panel), "Alexander Chekalin" (1942). During the great Patriotic war he performed agitational leaflets, worked in the liberated Tula and Sevastopol. The author of the series "defense of Tula" (1942-1943), "the Germans in Yasnaya Polyana" (1943), "Sevastopol" (1945), portraits the participants in the war.

From 1928 — participant of exhibitions (3-я the exhibition charts the artists ' Association-графиков in Moscow). Exhibited: paintings, drawings and sculpture (1936), 1-й exhibition of watercolor painting by Moscow artists (1937), drawing illustrations and poster (1940), works of Moscow artists during the great Patriotic war (1942), illustration for fables И. А. Крылова (1944), all-Union art exhibitions (1946, 1947) in Moscow; graphic art of Moscow artists in Kharkov (1938); 1-й the exhibition book of the sign in Kursk (1940). Participant of several exhibitions of Soviet art abroad — in London (1938), Belgium and the USA (both — 1939).

he was Buried at the cemetery Vagankovsky. A memorial exhibition of his works was held in Moscow (1955).

Work is represented in many Museum collections — smfa. А. С. Пушкина, the Tula regional local history Museum, Perm state art gallery, the Russian state archive of literature and art.
