Painter, lithographer, miniaturist

was Originally created miniature portraits of women and children in ivory. He studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (second half of the 1860-х). In 1870 he received from the Imperial Academy of arts title (class) a free artist.

Lived in St. Petersburg. Drew for magazines "Niva" (1870), "Iskra" (1873), "Dragonfly" (1875-1898; in 1875-1879 — editor of the magazine), "the Jester" (1880-90-е), "Fragments", "Entertainment", "Picturesque review". Completed portraits В. В. Самойлова, М. Е. Салтыкова-Щедрина, А. Г. Рубинштейна, И. А. Вышнеградского, И. Ф. Горбунова, А. А. Краевского, Н. И. Путилова, В. Д. Спасовича for caricature album Russian figures, released by the magazine "Dragonfly" (1877).

Participated in illustrating the publications: "the Imperial Arsenal, or Collection of weapons that belonged to His Imperial Majesty the sovereign Emperor Alexander Nikolaevich" (St. Petersburg, 1869); "Album of Russian artists" (St. Petersburg, 1880; 2-я prize of the magazine "Light and shadow"); "Our morals" И. Ф. Василевского (St. Petersburg, 1884; edition of the magazine "Dragonfly"); "Our ballet" А. А. Плещеева (St. Petersburg, 1896). Released albums of lithographs: "Lady masquerade" (St. Petersburg, 1884), "Opera Bouffe" (St. Petersburg, 1884). For an album of lithographs "Woman in the arena of public activity" (1888) was awarded the prize of the magazine "the Jester". The author of a number of easel works: "the emancipation of the peasants" (1885, watercolor).

Participated in the exhibition of First ladies ' art circle in St Petersburg (1886).

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — smfa. А. С. Пушкина the State Tretyakov gallery and others.
