"How is it at BAM"
the Artist Anatoly Kitaev came to BAM in 1974. Returning from a business trip he brought with him field work, which later was embodied in the famous canvases — in particular, the painting "the Beginning", "Tynda built", "Precious cargo" today is included in the collection of the Tretyakov gallery. For a series of works on BAM in 1975 Kitaev were awarded the prize of the Moscow Komsomol.
At the exhibition "As there is in the BAM" presents works that were created directly on the ground. This is a small (44 × 55) sketches in tempera, depicting the working and private lives of the builders of the highway. "Tynda. Docking" (1975) and "Tynda. Silver link" (1975) tells the viewer about the event, held on 8 may 1975 in the village of Tyndinskiy: the styling of the "silver link" of the railway line BAM — Tynda and arrival at the station Tynda first freight train. "The Golden link. Docking" reflects another key milestone in the history of BAM: 29 Sep 1984 at the junction of Bulbukhta was laid "the Golden link", samknows rails of the Western and Eastern sections, thereby all over the highway was opened through movement of trains.
In the full-scale sketches of Kitaev reflected the ordinary life of the builders of the highway — weddings, celebrations, sports events. Hockey in the painting people came from afar. Had a real feast: a gambling game in front of full stadium, the orchestra, the warming drinks, the laughter, the noise, the emotions, the fun is everywhere.
Soviet romance 1980-х Kitaev managed to convey the kind he saw with her own eyes, without idealizing and without embellishment. Those valuable life, the exposition: they kept the first impressions and emotions of the artist, the beauty of nature and people he met on the BAM.
