Lusiena Freud's earlier work will be exhibited in London
According to the Times, 9 October at the London gallery Hazlitt Holland-Hibbert to open exhibition of early works Lusiena Freud (Lucian Freud) - author of the most expensive work of living artists . The exhibition will be presented 32 works not previously exhibited. These paintings and drawings made by the author in the period from 1940 till 1958. Among them - the portraits of poets Spendera Steven (Stephen Spender) and David Gascoigne (David Gascoygne), as well as the artist's former lover, one of the favorite models of Francis Bacon (Francis Bacon) Henrietta Moraes (Henrietta Moraes).
One of the earliest works - a portrait of the poet Stephen Spendera. Freud wrote it when he was 17, and Spenderu - 31. Despite the difference in age, they were good friends and often spent time together in Snowdon, where the artist rented a small house. There, Freud wrote the picture, as Spender - poetry.
Another interesting picture, which will be presented at the exhibition, called «The girl with a blanket» (1952). It depicts Henrietta Moraes, secular lioness, notorious for their addiction to drugs and alcohol. The artist wrote to her often enough.
