At the Sotheby's auction in November will be offered a unique collection of decorative art, including items Faberge firm, owned by Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna (1854-1920) and her husband, His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich (1847-1909), son of Emperor Alexander II and brother of Emperor Alexander III.

The collection was transferred to the custody of the Swedish diplomatic mission in November 1918, shortly before the rupture of diplomatic relations with Sweden revolutionary Russia. About the collections did not know anything for 91 years, until the recent findings in Sweden.

Sotheby's plans to put all the values in the auction. All will be put up for auction some 100 items of decorative art, product Faberge firm, with the monogram, the signatures and photographs of family members of the Grand Duke Vladimir.

Estimated estimeyt collection will be 1 million pounds sterling. Many of the future auction lots are in excellent condition, and their estimeyty range from 80-120 pounds up to 4-6 thousand pounds - for a set of cufflinks and 700-900 pounds up to 70-90 thousand pounds - per cigarette.

Commenting on this sensational find, senior director of Sotheby's Marcus Linell, and an expert on Russian decorative and applied arts and product Faberge firm Ol'ga Vaygacheva, noted: « Detection of product collections of decorative art owned by members of the Romanov family, can be safely described as a sensation. Many of the preserved traces of the former owners - cigarettes and tobacco in multiple cigarette. Collectors had the unique opportunity to acquire a historically significant collection of family values of the Romanov Dynasty ».
