researchers from the Library of John Raylandsa at the University of Manchester have announced the discovery of 350 engravings by British poet and artist William Blake. For two years, students of the University under the direction of art Trodda Colin (Colin Trodd) worked in the library in search of the unknown works of Blake. In order to be able to distinguish genuine works of William Blake, of all others, the students were "treated like an expert" David Morris of the Whitworth Art Gallery.
About the collection of engravings visionary artist William Blake in the Library John Raylandsa was known before. It included, in particular, its hand-painted illustrations of the poem by Edward Young's "Complaint, or Night reflections on life, death and immortality." However, experts were sure that the bins stored in the library a lot more of his prints, which was confirmed after two years of searching. Many of the newly discovered prints will be on display in the library next month.
