The famous tomb of Tutankhamen in Egypt closed for restoration. Specialists will conduct clearing and restoration of mural paintings in the underground chambers. It will take about five years. Two years will be to investigate the causes of damage, and then for three years will be carried out restoration work.
This project is a collaboration of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Los Angeles-based Getty Conservation Institute.
