born in the family KN Zaryanko, a serf of Count Lubomirski. At an early age he moved to St. Petersburg, where he obtained his freedom father worked at Prince AN Golitsyn. Since mid-1840 he worked primarily as a portraitist. In 1850, presented to the Board of IAH portraits of Captain DV Khvostov and artist FP Tolstoy, for which approved the rank of professor of degree 2.

In 1846 he taught drawing at the Alexander Institute in Moscow orphanage, as well as prospects in the palace architecture school. Created an image for the iconostasis of churches of the Moscow Cadet Corps. In 1846-1855 conducted classes at the Nobles shelf. Zaryanko - one of the leading Russian artists of the mid XIX century, created a gallery of portraits of his contemporaries. His artistic style is largely shaped by the influence of lessons Venetsianov, however, aptly Alexander Benois, he turned the "live instruction of a teacher in a fixed formula for the dead. For pictures Zaryanko characterized by a certain rigidity of the figure, restrained colors, the desire for almost photographic accuracy of the image.

Zaryanko works are in many museum and private collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum, State Hermitage Museum.
