Studied at the Central Stroganov-промышленном College (1908-1917) В. Е. Егорова, Д. А. Щербиновского in the VKhUTEMAS in Moscow (1917-1921) П. П. Кончаловского and Ф. Ф. Федоровского. In 1921 he completed graduate work — sketches of scenery for the play А. В. Луначарского "Royal Barber".

he Lived in Moscow. Performed sketches of costumes and scenery for a variety of performances (1920-1921), "Moscow circus" ("Mystery Buff" В. В. Маяковского, 1921), Zamoskvoretskaya theatre ("dog in the manger" by Lope de VEGA, 1923). Worked on movie posters, completed the posters for the films "Tube Communards" (1928), "Thunderstorm" (1933), "Chapaev" (1934), "Alexander Nevsky" (1936), "Girl with character" (1939), "Yakov Sverdlov" (1940), "Glinka" (1946; awarded an honorary diploma at the exhibition of posters in Vienna in 1948), "We are from Kronstadt", "Big life" (both — 1949), "The eyes movie" (1957), "the Cradle of the poet" (1958) and others. Participated in the design of the Soviet pavilion at the world exhibition in Philadelphia (1928), pavilions of the exhibition "Viticulture", "Wine" (both — 1939), "Slavhorod" (1954). He worked as a landscape (a series of landscapes of Moscow region), Illustrator.

Exhibited at the exhibition of Soviet film posters (1956), the exhibition "Poster and satire 40 лет in the works of Moscow artists" (1958) in Moscow and others.
