Painter, graphic artist

from a peasant family. Original art education in drawing school VS Rozanova in Moscow. Studied at MUZHVZ (1881-1891) as a student at volnoslushayuschego Vladimir Makovsky, VD Polenova, IM Pryanishnikova. In 1891, for drawing and sketch from nature has been awarded two small silver medals, and awarded neklassnogo (free), painter. He continued his studies at the Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH (since 1897).

lived in Moscow. Visited Russia, the Caucasus (1892), Italy (1911), Crimea (1912), traveled to the European part of Russia and the North. He painted genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, still lifes, to book graphics. He illustrated works by Gogol, Lermontov.

Since 1888 - participant of exhibitions (student's, MUZHVZ). Exhibited his works at exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Fine Arts (1891-1898, 1907), Spring exhibition in the halls of IAH (1894, 1896, 1911, 1914), the New Society of Artists (1910), the World Exhibition in Rome (1911). Member and exhibitor of the Moscow Association of Artists (1898-1918, member since 1894, was a member of the Committee of association).

many works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
