The exhibition in Liverpool will bring together the works of Turner, Monet and Twombly

Five famous works by Claude Monet with water lilies will be on display together during the exhibition "Turner, Monet, Twombly: later works", which will be held in the Tate gallery-Ливерпуль from 22 June to 28 October 2012. Two of these works first brought to Britain: "a Pond with water lilies" (circa 1917-1919) of the Vienna Albertina, and "water Lilies" from the collection of the Foundation Beyeler in Basel. The remaining three works with water lilies come from the collections of the Metropolitan Museum in new-Йорке (water Lilies, 1916), Art Museum of Gothenburg ("Lilies", 1907) and the National gallery in London (water Lilies, after 1916).

the five paintings form one of the main parts of the exhibition, which will showcase the late work of William Turner (1775-1851), Claude Monet (1840-1926) and CY Twombly (1928-2011). All three authors have addressed the theme of death in his late works. In "water Lilies" Monet felt personal suffering of the author and his response to the horrific world sobytiya@

exhibition Curator Jeremy Lewison (Jeremy Lewison): "Paintings with water lilies were painted on top of Monet's career, this is one of the most recognizable of his works. To get five of the most important works of this series for the exhibition —. The artist painted this work during the First world war;, they seem to be a haven of peace in the surrounding chaos. Drawing these paintings, Monet found a kind of solace in his personal grief. Grief and loss @ & mdash; this is a key theme of this exhibition; to be treated by all three authors."

In 1899 in Giverny Claude Monet first painted water lilies, which in poetry often symbolize mourning, melancholy and death. These seemingly these joyful works were written during the long illness of his stepdaughter, who died very young. Later the artist returned to this motif until 1907. The main part of paintings with water lilies was written after the outbreak of the First world war. At that time Monet had lost many loved ones: his wife Alice died in 1911, his son Jean died in February 1914, and another son, Michel, was called to the front. Late paintings with water lilies do not seem to exist in space, they are that space in which you are immersed, watching the water and reflection on it. For Monet, they were quiet harbour where he could take shelter from the raging outside world — he could hear the sounds of guns by painting these paintings in his Studio, and listen to the voice of your own grieving dushi@

the Draft "Turner, Monet, Twombly: late work," explores the historical relationship and similarities between these three artists, each of those is broken the traditions of his era. The curators suggest that the later work of these three authors have similar characteristics and motivation. These artists were fascinated by the play of light, the landscape, all three were interested in mythology and has put in his work thoughts on the divine. In addition, these painters is distinguished by a high level of skill. The exhibition will be presented 60 papers, and each author will be given due consideration. In each of the halls can be seen working at once two or even all three artists. Works by Monet and Twombly will provide museums and private collectors from around the world. And paintings by William Turner from the rich collection of the Tate, bequeathed to the gallery by the author, complement the paintings from American museums. The exhibition is organized by Museum of modern art in Stockholm and the State gallery of Stuttgart and gallery Тейт-Ливерпуль.
