The exhibition consists of three sections.

The first section reflects a chronicle of the Northern War of 1700-1721, in which the Battle of Poltava on July 8 (27 June) in 1709 was the culminating event. The section presents a historical illustration (engravings, lithographs XVIII - XIX centuries), portraits of military commanders - «chicks nest Petrova», archival documents.

The second section is devoted to repel the opposition of two military geniuses of the era - Peter I and Charles XII, which has not only attracted historians, but also was a major historical and philosophical thought of the poem by Pushkin. The section presents the portraits of the two crowned heads from the collection of GMP.

The third section covers poem «Poltava». Here are the works that served as sources for writing the poem (Prokopovich, Lomonosov, Golikov, Voltaire, Lezyur) edition of the works (from in vivo); guest writers in the poem «Poltava» as well as material revealing the perceptions of the battle of Poltava in the era of Pushkin's contemporaries, 1812 year. Visitors can see the illustrations for «Poltava» famous national artists (the original technique, printmaking) , Konstantinova, GAV Traugot, Maciejewski, etc.

The exhibition runs until September 30, 2009.
