Painter, draftsman, photographer

was in the military (sailor 32-го naval crew). He studied at the Imperial Academy of arts as volnoslushayuschego (1857-1862) А. Т. Маркова. In 1860 he was awarded a small silver medal for the painting "young Boy Smoking a cigarette" and a large silver medal for the painting "Workshop of the painter". In 1862 he received the title of artist.

Lived in St. Petersburg and Arkhangelsk (1866). Executed genre scenes, portraits; copyist. Author paintings: "Portrait of mother" (1857), "village choir" (1864), "Sellers of berries", "Boys-славильщики" (both — 1860-е), "the Closing of the old believers 'chapel" (1904). Created an image for the iconostasis Pogromsky, Makosinski and Ergalakhsk churches of the Arkhangelsk province (all — 1871).

In 1866 he opened his own photographic Studio in Arkhangelsk (first was located in the district of Solombala, which by that time became part of the city, then — in the centre of Arkhangelsk). Workshop worked until 1885, and also, apparently, in 1887-1893. Completed a series of photographic views of the Solovetsky monastery. In 1902 once again petitioned the Governor to obtain permission to open a photo in Arkhangelsk, the corresponding grants are received, but information about the activities there.

Exhibited at the exhibitions of the Imperial Academy of arts in St. Petersburg (1860-1864); Arkhangelsk agricultural exhibition (1884).

he was Engaged in teaching; taught at the icon school of the Solovetsky monastery.

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Russian Museum, Museum of modern art, Tver regional art gallery, the Arkhangelsk regional Museum of local lore (photo).
