From a family of teachers, and school teachers. Participant of the First world war. In 1920, after the execution of his father by the Bolsheviks (according to some sources, the murder was of a criminal nature), fled to the South of Russia, where he joined the Volunteer army. In the late 1920's were evacuated along with parts from the Crimea in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.

for Some time he lived in the town of Pancevo near Belgrade; attended courses of painting and drawing. Performed Billboard for a Department store MATIC in Belgrade. To book graphics, created cartoons and posters.

has Gained wide European fame as author of comic books from 1937 to 1941, completed 26 комиксов for the Belgrade magazine "Mika Mish" ("Mickey mouse") А. Ивковича; among them comic books, a mystical-приключенческого genre: "Countess Margot", "Baron-вампир (both — 1939), "Three lives" (1940), "the Mark of death" (1941); on motives of Russian literature: "Haji-Мурат" Л. Н. Толстому (1937-1938), "The night before Christmas" by Н. В. Гоголю, "Queen of spades" by А. С. Пушкину (both — 1940) and others. In 1940-1941 published in the journal "Politikin a funny fellow" comic book "Peter the Great" and comics based on fairy tales А. С. Пушкина "the Tale of Tsar Saltan" and "the Tale of the Golden Cockerel", which was influenced by the style of the book charts И. Я. Билибина. The author of the comic "Sinbad-Мореход", "Descendant of Genghis-хана", "Orient Express", "Ali-Баба and 40 разбойников" and others, which were published not only in Serbia, but also in the French magazines "Gavroche", "Jumbo", "Aventures", "Le journal de Toto", "Les grandes aventures". Used pseudonyms Steav Doop, K. Kulig Kostochkin, Kuzma, K.

In the period of Nazi occupation of Belgrade (1941-1944) served as anti-Semitic and anti-Communist posters for the publishing house "the South-Восток". Worked in the propaganda Department "S"; illustrated promotional leaflet. Published a political comic strip "the Story of the unfortunate king", the protagonists of which were the kings of Yugoslavia Alexander I Karadjordjevic (Old king) and Peter II Karadjordjevic (the Young king), У. Черчилль (the evil Nobleman Lord), И. Броз Tito (the Rogue), И. Сталин (Northern blood Lord). How the cartoonist worked for comic magazine "Bodljikavo prase" ("Porcupine"), "Mali is a funny fellow".

in the Autumn of 1944 fled from Yugoslavia; hit the camp for displaced persons in Austria. In 1946 he was in the camp on the outskirts of Munich, where he designed the cover for the magazine's "Lights" (1946, No. 1). Drew caricatures for the comic magazine "Parsley". Compiled and illustrated edition of the "Icy campaign", dedicated 1-му campaign of the Volunteer army of General Л. Г. Корнилова in the Kuban (1949).

About 1950 he left for the USA. Continued to work as an Illustrator, wrote of easel paintings, icons. Performed watercolours on Russian themes for Christmas cards and calendars new-йоркского publisher Martyanov. In 1970 in Canada it was released edition of "the Baptism of Rus '" with its illustrations (reissue — M., 1988).
