Biographical details are scarce. He studied in Odessa in private studios in YP Bershad and T. Ya Dvornikova, continued his education at the Odessa Art College - Government of free art workshops (until 1920), then - at the Leningrad Art and industrial technical school (before 1926) and Vhuteine (1926-1929).
