Participant 1-й world and the Civil war (1918-1921); worked as a decorator in army theaters of Buguruslan, was directed by the artistic circle in the military-политической school of the Siberian military district (1921-1926).

Studied on evening courses Tomsk art school (1925), in the Leningrad Vhuteine (1926-1930) К. С. Петрова-Водкина, А. А. Рылова, В. Е. Савинского.

Lived in Buguruslan (1930-1938), Penza (1938). He painted portraits, landscapes, still lifes, theme and battle songs; executed a number of paintings devoted to the October revolution and the civil war. Author of painting works: "the Death of Н. Г. Толмачева" (1928), "Frunze in battle among the red army" (1930), "25-ая Chapayev division", "Eastern front" (both — 1933), "Chapaevtsy in village retaken from the whites" (1938), "the defeat of the Nazis on Miusskaya direction" (1943), "Partisan edge" (1945), "the Bolshevik agitator in the trenches" (1950). During the great Patriotic war, he served propaganda posters.

Participated in the exhibition "XV years of the red army" in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Kharkov (1933-1935), "XX years of the red army and the Military-морского Navy" (1938), exhibition of works of artists from the periphery (1940) in Moscow, 1-й regional art exhibition (1939), exhibition of works of Penza artists dedicated to the 25th-летию the October revolution (1942) and 25-летию the red army (1943), Victory Day (1946), 200-летию birthday А. Н. Радищева (1949), 40-летию the October revolution (1957) in Penza and other.

In 1968 был awarded the title of honored worker of culture of the RSFSR (1968).

he Taught at teacher-training College Buguruslan (1930-1938), Penza art College (1938-1958).
