he Studied at the Kyiv drawing school (1894-1898) Н. И. Мурашко and Н. К. Пимоненко in MUZHVZ (1898-1903) as a volunteer in the workshop В. А. Серова. In 1901 he was awarded a small silver medal;-released with the title neklassnogo artist. He continued his education at the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture (1903-1911) И. Е. Репина, В. А. Савинского, П. П. Чистякова. In 1911, for the painting "Salome" received the title of artist. In 1912-1913 was in the pensioner's trip to Italy.

Lived in St. Petersburg, from 1918 — in the village Vasilevka. In 1910-х worked in St. Petersburg's magazines "Argus", "the Sun of Russia", "Niva", "Ogonyok". During the First world war, while at the front, performed numerous drawings and sketches.

he Worked as a genre painter, landscape painter, portrait painter, created the paintings on mythological and biblical subjects. Author of painting works: "the patient" (1898), "berries", "Old comrade-бурсак away, Portrait З. Н. Гавриловой" (all — 1900-е), "Portrait М. А. Григорьевой" "Portrait of the artist В. В. Кавецкой", "Fortress for the gospel", "Corner", "the old Lady-итальянка", "Girl with flowers" and "Towards the evening (At the lake)", "Paraska on a holiday", "Fair" (all — 1910-е) and others. In 1912, for the painting "the Holy Family in Egypt" was awarded 3-й prize at the competition. А. И. Куинджи.

After the October revolution, carried out a number of thematic paintings: "В. И. Ленин on vacation", "First the combine", "weeding beets" (all — 1930-е).

From 1898 — participant of exhibitions (the Moscow school of painting, student). He exposed his works at the Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1911-1917), Association of artists (1916) in St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg spring exhibition in the gallery Lemercier in Moscow (1911-1912), 6-й Ukrainian art exhibition in Kiev and Kharkiv (1935).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, including the Science-исследовательском Museum of the Russian Academy of arts, State Historical Museum, Poltava art Museum and others.
