From the family of a shoemaker. Initial art education at the city College in Kungur (1900-е, not graduated) А. Н. Зеленина. He worked with his father at the tannery, in various offices. Studied at the Kazan art school (1909-1915) Н. И. Фешина, П. П. Бенькова then — at the Higher art school of painting, sculpture and architecture under the Imperial Academy of arts in Petrograd (1915-1918, did not graduate) А. В. Маковского.

Lived in Kungur (1918-1931), Perm (1931-1935), Sverdlovsk (1935). Member of the Board of studies in Kungur. The author of a number of paintings on historical subjects: "Pugachev in Kungur", "building a fortress in Kungur in 1675 году" and some others (1920-е); works on the themes of village life: "Spring planting", "the Plow and the first tractor", "Harvest" (all — 1920-е). Completed a series of works on the theme of the 1905 revolution года and the Civil war: "armed uprising in Motovilikha 1905 года", "Я. М. Свердлов in the classroom vigilantes", "train shooting guards in 1905 году", "Arrest Я. М. Свердлова in 1906 году", "Meeting the red Army, liberated the city of Perm in 1919 году" (1930-е).

In the late 1920-х and in 1930-х worked on industrial construction sites of the Urals — Ural heavy machinery plant, Novo-Тагильском metallurgical plant and others. The result is a themed pictures — "Work crews have a powerful press UZTM", "Shop", "press", "the Stakhanovite UZTM", "ten thousandth press on UZTM", "Morning train calves at the Ural stud, Panorama Novo-Тагильского plant".

also Wrote portraits, landscapes. The author of the portraits of his father (1916), workers Kungur tannery comrade Ovsyannikova (1926), pioneer of — of students Petrova (1937), steelworker Н. Базетова (1944), Professor С. А. Покровского (1947), the forerunner of agriculture В. П. Коковиной (1952).

Member of the Sverdlovsk branch of the akhr (1929-1932), the Union of artists of the USSR (1932), Participated in exhibitions: Jubilee exhibition of art of the peoples of the USSR (1927), works of painters of the Union republics, Autonomous republics and oblasts of the RSFSR (1944) in Moscow; 2-й exhibition of creativity of modern artists of the Urals (1927), "XV years of the red army" (1933) in Perm; the regional exhibition of the artists of the Urals (1928), drawings and sketches of artists — members of the AOA by the Civil war and the new buildings of the Perm district (1932), paintings (works), Sverdlovsk artists (1937, 1940, 1943 — on the 25th-летию the red army, 1945, 1947, 1949, 1953, 1955, 1957 — on the 40-летию the October revolution, 1958), "Ural — forge arms" (1944) in Sverdlovsk and others. Had a solo exhibition in Sverdlovsk (1945, together with И. К. Слюсаревым).

Taught in schools and art studios of Kungur (1918-1931), the Pedagogical Institute and Art school in Perm (1931-1935), Sverdlovsk art school (1935-1951).

Work is represented in several Museum collections; among them — Ekaterinburg state Museum of fine arts, Kungur historical-архитектурный and art Museum-заповедник and others. In local Museum of Kungur exhibition hall is open to them. Г. А. Мелентьева.
