he Studied at the Tomsk architecture-строительном Institute (1917-1927) and the Tomsk art school (1917-1922).

he Lived in Sverdlovsk (1928-1931), Leningrad (1931-1940 directed, 1945), Dushanbe (1940-1945). Participated in the design of the Magnitogorsk factory (late 1920-х), and several public buildings in Sverdlovsk (until 1931), Theatre. Lenin Komsomol (1933-1935) and public buildings (1930-е) in Leningrad. Oversaw the artistic design of the pavilion "Cotton" on VSHV in Moscow (1938).

Since the late 1930-х 1950-е a lot worked in Tajikistan; participated in project development of the Tajik theater of Opera and ballet (1936-1940), the House of government of the Tajik SSR (1947-1948), Public library. Ferdowsi (1948-1951) in Dushanbe and other; has created sketches of the decoration of these buildings, run on them, painting (tempera) ceiling in the Tajik Opera and ballet theatre (1940-1942, in collaboration with other artists), walls and ceiling in the House of government ("Industry, agriculture and pastoralism", 1946-1951; "Herman", 1948-1949; together with М. А. Зубаревой), Public library ("Ferdowsi and the heroes of his poems "Shakhname"", "Motherland", 1952-1956; together with М. А. Зубаревой). He was Deputy Chairman of the Union of artists of the Tajik SSR. Led a Studio of Amateur artists in Dushanbe.

Participated in the restoration of the building of the Leningrad city Executive Committee (Mariinsky Palace) in Leningrad; created for the reception hall, the picture "Victory salute in Leningrad" (1945-1946, together with М. А. Зубаревой).

Carried out projects of internal furnish of Soviet transatlantic ships (the late 1940-х — 1950-е): "Nakhimov" (the song "Battle of Gangut", portraits П. С. Нахимова and other great naval commanders), "Crimea", "the Soviet Union".

was Engaged in easel painting and graphics. He painted mainly landscapes and still lifes; worked a lot in watercolors. Completed a number of themed works: "the Performance artists at the front" (1943), "Rafting on the mountain river" (1944), "harvest" (1945-1946). Together with М. А. Зубаревой created the painting "the Herd in the mountains of Tajikistan" (1944), "Leningrad. Day of-Морского Navy" (1957), watercolor "Shelkovoy of Tajikistan" (1958), the mural "autumn in the mountains (mountain village)" and "the Gifts of Tajikistan" (both — 1947), a series of "Landscapes of mountainous Tajikistan" (1954, tempera).

From 1928 — participant of exhibitions (Regional exhibition of the artists of the Urals in Sverdlovsk). Member of the Sverdlovsk branch of the akhr (1927-1931), the Leningrad Union of artists (from 1938). Exhibited: works by artists of the Union republics, Autonomous republics and oblasts of the RSFSR in Moscow and Leningrad (1946), all-Union art exhibitions (1946, 1947, 1950, 1957, 1961), works by artists of Usbsr, Kazakh SSR, Tajik SSR and Kingsr (1956), visual arts of the Tajik SSR (1957), "Soviet Russia" (1960), "Flourish land farm" (1964), all-Union exhibitions of watercolors (1965, 1969), "still life" (1974) in Moscow, Soviet graphics in Tartu (1947), of works by Leningrad artists (1947, 1948, 1958, 1960, 1961, 1964), autumn exhibitions of Leningrad artists (1956, 1958, 1968, 1970, 1971, 1973), of watercolours and drawings (1959, 1965), Leningrad (1964) in Leningrad and others. He exposed his works at international exhibitions: in Romania, Yugoslavia (1965), Czechoslovakia (1966), Poland (1974) and others. His personal exhibitions were held in Leningrad (1937, 1951, 1980, 1984), Kirov (1938), in Moscow (1962, 1965).

In 1951 был awarded the title of honored art worker of the Tajik SSR.

a Memorial exhibition of works by Zakharov took place in St. Petersburg (1996).

Work is represented in several Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery, State Russian Museum, the national Museum of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.
