Rauch - an outstanding German sculptor of the first half of the XIX century. The representative of Neo-Classicism and neo-Gothic style in art. He worked mainly in the field of monumental sculptures, skillfully combining in his works true nature and the majesty of the image. Created as a large number of portrait busts, among which the most famous portraits of Alexander I, Grand Duke Nicholas, General-Field Marshal von Wartenburg York, JW Goethe, FA Wolf, A. Mengs, A. Van Dyck, F. Snyders, G.-L. Blucher.
