descendant of immigrants from northern Germany. In 1954 he graduated from the seven-year school in the village of gazing. In 1955-1956 he worked as lumberjacks in the Altai Mountains, loader, digger on the railroad station Novo-Blagoveschenka, bugler and assistant blaster on a career in Nizhny Tagil. In 1957 enrolled in Sverdlovsk Art College named. ID Shadrov, from which he graduated in 1962. In 1991 Dick was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia, in 1999 - People's Artist of Russia, in 2001 he was awarded the Russo-Germanic Prize in the arts. In 2002, died suddenly on the eve of his solo exhibition in the city Worpswede in Germany. In 2005, the Pushkin Museum in them.
