born in the family official. In 1842-1846 he studied at the School of the Guards sub-ensigns, after which he served in the Dragoon Guards and the Hussars. Began to engage in self-modeling in wax, creating a small-sized statues of people and animals. Upon his retirement, he studied at the IAH under the leadership of PK Klodt. In 1857, for the wax statuette was awarded a small silver medal. In 1859, for the sculptural group "Death of Polish hussars in the XVIII century" was awarded an honorary free associate of the Academy of the Academy. In 1861 elected an academician of the work "Stremyanny with hounds", "a poet of the wolf", "whipper-in with the hounds." Participated in academic exhibitions. In 1862 he became a member of the Society for the Promotion of Artists. Works Liberiha exhibited at international art exhibitions in London (1862, 1872), the World Exhibitions in Paris (1867) and Antwerp (1885).

Liberia - one of the leading Russian sculpture-animalists second half of the XIX century. He worked mainly in small forms, the most common subjects of his sculptures were hunting, military, domestic scenes. I created an animal model for the factory-bronze-Petersburg AI Sokolov, PA Ovchinnikov, I. Sazikov, K. F. Werfel and others who did the casting in silver and bronze.
