from a large family Zemsky paramedic, the younger brother of the architect, painter Basil Krichevsky, uncle artists Nicholas and Basil Krichevskys. Studied at MUZHVZ (1896-1901). In 1901, for the painting "Noah and his sons in the vineyard" was promoted neklassnogo (free), painter. In MUZHVZ friends with IG Myasoyedov, together with him repeatedly traveled to Ukraine (1900-e), visited London (1902). In 1903 enrolled in the Higher School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH, in Repin's studio, but due to illness, was forced to interrupt their studies. In 1907, resumed classes in the studio VHU FA Roubaud. Attended a sculpture workshop VV Beklemisheva mastered the technique of etching under the leadership of V. Mate. In 1910, for the painting "The Burial", "Bride" and the other received the title of the artist with the right of a pensioner's travel for one year.

In 1939, for his years of artistic and educational activities received his doctorate in art history, in 1940 was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.

During the German occupation of Ukraine was the chairman of the Union of Ukrainian artists. In 1944 during the Soviet offensive was trying to go abroad, but was arrested by the NKVD near Koenigsberg, then released. He lived in exile in the city Irpen near Kiev. Died, probably from starvation.
