he Studied at Penza art school (1920-е).

he Lived in Penza and Moscow. Since the early 1930-х worked as a restorer of paintings in the State Tretyakov gallery, later — head of the restoration workshops of the Museum. The author of the book "basic techniques of conservation of paintings" (М.-Л., 1937; together with А. Н. Лужецкой), which became the first scientific textbook in the USSR on the Museum business; has prepared the publication "techniques of restoration of paintings" (M., 1948). During the great Patriotic war was engaged in the evacuation of the Tretyakov gallery in Novosibirsk, before returning the collection in 1944 осуществлял observation of the exhibits.

Worked as a landscape painter, portraitist. A member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

From 1928 — participant of exhibitions (1-я provincial art exhibition in Penza). Exhibited: young artists in Moscow (1934), all-Union art exhibitions (1942, the "Great Patriotic war"; 1946, 1947), works of painters of the Union republics, the Autonomous regions and oblasts of the RSFSR (1944), "30 лет of the Soviet armed forces. 1918-1948" (1948) in Moscow, the exhibition of painting in the Boot of the Ryazan region (1938), "Artists of Siberia in the days of the great Patriotic war" (1942), "Siberia — front" (1944) in Novosibirsk, mobile exhibitions of Soviet art in the cities of Ukraine (1948), the Volga (1950), Siberia (1952) and others. Held a personal exhibition (the cycle of the Siberian landscapes) in the State Tretyakov gallery in Moscow (1945).
