In 1912-1916 Aronson was trained at the Kiev Art School from I. Selezneva in Kiev drawing school at N. Murashko. In 1917-1918 he studied at the studio, Alexandra Exter, fascinated by his theater and set design. Creative manner Exter had a great influence on him. The artist introduced Aronson with Meyerhold and Alexander Tairov Ya played a significant role in shaping his views of theater.

After 1917, Aronson led an active social life in Kiev. Participated in the creation of the Museum of Modern Art, in 1917-1918 (according to other sources, in 1920-1921) was Secretary of the Exhibition Commission for Culture League. In 1920 the Culture League was organized in Kiev, the first Jewish art exhibition, which Aronson exhibited his works.

In connection with the work of the Central Committee of the Culture League in Moscow in late 1920 the artist moved to the capital and the entire 1921 he studied painting at the I. Mashkov.
