born in a family doctor. He graduated from the Chernigov high school. In 1854-1862 he studied in a class of landscape painting at IAH SM Vorobiev as an auditor. In 1857 he was awarded a small gold medal, in 1858 - small and large silver medal for the painting "View in the Oaks in the vicinity of St. Petersburg. He took part in the competition for a gold medal, but to no avail. He graduated from the IAH class artist with a rank of 2 nd degree.

summer months of 1858 together with Ivan Shishkin and A. Guinet worked on the island of Valaam. Many traveled to Russia, was a frequent visitor to Ukraine and in the Novgorod province. From 1859 regularly exhibited his work with the kinds of neighborhoods of St. Petersburg, Novgorod and Chernigov provinces exhibitions IAH and Society for the Promotion of Artists. In 1867, for the painting "View of Chernigov province" and for "art and knowledge in painting the landscape" was awarded the title of academician. In the summer of 1864 on the instructions of the Hydrographic Department, along with AP Bogolyubov worked on compiling the atlas shores of the Baltic Sea.

In his works performed continuing the traditions of the academic landscape. By Remark art historian by FI Bulgakov, his landscapes on display at academic exhibitions, "promised to him a talented artist, but he was forced to work exclusively for the art market».

Jogin works are in many museum and private collections. The master's career is represented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum, State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan in Kazan and others.
