France and the Netherlands have agreed to jointly purchase the portraits of Rembrandt
After several days of intense negotiations, the governments of France and the Netherlands agreed to acquire chipped in two portrait by Rembrandt from the collection of Baron Eric de Rothschild. Paired portraits Open Coppit and Martin Almanza estimated total of 160 million Euro@
Original the Netherlands were ready to purchase both portraits. The government was ready to allocate 80 million Euro and 80 million Euro was going to pay Amsterdam Rijksmuseum@
However, with the response the proposal was made by the French government: Minister of culture of that country Pellerin Fleur (Fleur Pellerin) reported that the state Bank of France is ready to allocate 80 million euros to buy half of the rights to portreti@
And now, French President Francois Hollande (Francois Hollande) and Prime Minister of the Netherlands mark Rutte (Mark Rutte) has made a final statement saying, what the parties agreed to jointly purchase the portraits. Works by Rembrandt will be on display alternately at two sites — the Rijksmuseum and the Louvre. To separate them will not.
