academic art education is not received, he studied painting with his father, A. Steinberg, a graduate VKhUTEMAS, poet and translator. His teachers also believed B. Sveshnikov and O. Rabin.

first exhibition was staged in conjunction with Steinberg V. Vorobiev, I. Vulokh, V. Kanevsky Tarusa club in the city in 1961.

1974 - Exhibition of Progressive Stromungen in Moskau 1957-1970 (Museum Bochum, Bochum, Germany);

In 1992, Steinberg's solo exhibitions were held in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the gallery "Belyaevo" and Peter's lines in Moscow.

During the 1990's artist moved abroad for a time lived in Munich, and then settled in Paris. However, he often comes to Moscow and Tarusa.
