How did the gathering of so many choice items? In 1915, businessman Jonas Netter, assisted by the dealer Leopold Zborowski began to "pay" Amedeo Modigliani — 300, then 500, then 1,000 francs. The artist received the money, paid for materials and the Studio, giving their "employers" almost all the paintings. For him it was a way out: pictures of the unfortunate Maudie Parisians bought bad, the artist lived in poverty. About the same contract Netter and Zborowski made with Utrillo and Soutine. And Netter bought paintings of Moses Kisling, Suzanne Valadon, andré Derain and other artists of the Paris school in the days when it was not yet recognized as a crucial phenomenon in the world history of art.

Jonas Netter died in 1946. The family had not shown his collection for over 70 years, and that's only in the last years of Modigliani Netter went on tour (after Russia, the exhibition will travel to Brazil). Things so rare and important that at the opening of Faberge Museum came the Director of the state Tretyakov gallery Zelfira Tregulova, and the Vernissage was attended by the Minister Vladimir Medina.

At the exhibition "Modigliani, Soutine and other legends of Paris" shows more than 120 works by artists of the Paris school. Curator of the exhibition was mark Restellini — the world's leading expert on the works of Amedeo Modigliani.
