At the exhibition "Sea Symphony by Ivan Aivazovsky's" show rare graphics, an outstanding Russian seascape painter, early paintings and masterpieces of the most valuable period.

In the meeting of the Central military-морского Museum houses more than 20 paintings by Aivazovsky. One of the earliest — portrait of Vice-адмирала M. P. Lazarev, created in 1839, when young academics Hovhannes Aivazyan participated in the Caucasian expedition of General N. N. Rajewski. There are first works, executed in 1844 by order of Nicolas I, immediately after returning from a pensioner's trip to Europe, — "Kronstadt RAID. Fort "Emperor Alexander I"" "Sveaborg".

Very quickly, during the Russo-турецкой war of 1877-1878 was written "Battle of ship Vesta with the Turkish battleship "Fethi-Буленд" a" and "Capture ship "Russia"... the Turkish transport "Mersin"..." presented in the exhibition.

In turn "Maneuvers of the black sea fleet" (1886) and "the Squadron of the black sea fleet before entering the Sevastopol roads" (1895) — is already Aivazovsky memories of my youth, the things that are written in his later years, reminiscent of the greatness of the Russian sailing fleet, when the Emperor Nicholas I.

a Storm at sea — is one of the favorite subjects of Aivazovsky. The organizers note that pictures on this subject, the artist painted more than 4,000. So, the plot of the piece "the Wreck of the ship "Ingermanland" Skagerrak" (1860-е) based on a true tragedy which occurred in August, 1842 off the Norwegian coast. Linear ship struck the rocks, and died 389. But "Shipwreck off mount Athos" applies to fictional works. In such works the artist was interested in the combination of tragedy and hope, confrontation of man with the elements.

In 1852, Aivazovsky created a few paintings of small format (28 × 38.5 cm), themes which relate to the visit to Sevastopol, Nicholas I, shortly before the outbreak of the Crimean war. Together with the Emperor and the Grand Duke on the steam frigate "Vladimir" was attended by the artist. St.-петербургский publisher A. M. Prevost printed with paintings lithographs. Several paintings in this series were lost during the great Patriotic war. And there was only lithography. The exhibition presents the worksheets in this series.

for the First time the exhibition presents graphic works from the State Museum-заповедника "Peterhof". 14 of the drawings depicting the maneuvers of the black sea fleet, the types of Nikolayev and Sebastopol was madeIvan Aivazovsky 1845-1846 years, shortly before the outbreak of the Crimean war, at a time when the artist was attached to the retinue of the Emperor Nicholas I. a Graphic series preceded the execution of the Imperial order for the compilation of views of the black sea ports. Such a schedule requires specific exposure conditions and of storage, therefore not usually represented in the permanent exhibition. So this is a rare opportunity to see these works.
