the Exhibition devoted to 175-летию since the birth of world-famous Russian artist-баталиста Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin (1842-1904), will present more than 150 works from the collection of the Russian Museum, State Tretyakov gallery, State Historical Museum, art museums of Pskov, Novgorod, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Cherepovets, Kazan and private collections.

Along with the paintings by V. V. Vereshchagin of Turkestan and Balkan series (1860-80-е) for the first time so fully will be revealed important, but less known to the General public face of the heritage of the great painter — landscape studies and ethnographic motifs (portraits and narrative compositions) of different years. For the first time in a large volume will be presented graphic works of V. V. Vereshchagin.

the Exhibition will complement the unique documentary materials from the archive of the Russian Museum and everyday objects from the collection of the Russian Museum of Ethnography associated with life and creativity of V. V. Vereshchagin.
