the Artist was born in Moscow, studied at the Moscow school of painting, soon renamed in Free art workshops and further — in VHUTEMAS, S. V. Malyutin, V. N. Yakovlev, V. D. Falileev.

was Engaged in design of exhibitions, fabrics, made costumes and sets for films and theatre productions. Before the war he worked at the agricultural exhibition (VDNKH) specialist in folk ornaments. With the outbreak of war took part in the disguise of military objects, for which he was awarded the medal "For defense of Moscow". After the war, he was a costume designer on "Mosfilm", designed decorative objects, the factory at the Institute of glass. Most monotypes refers to the late 1950-х — early 1960-х years, when the artist started to work in this technique. During this period, monotype have Raube-Горчилиной is soft performance, gentle light tones close together in tone of color patches. Topics different. Most — still lifes, light, airy. There are landscapes depicting the States of nature. There are even genre scenes.

a Number of watercolors in the exhibition are small. Mostly small leaves from a notebook, made in 1930-х years, depicting houses, trees, gardens... Two of the larger sheet, dated 1934-м depict scenes of popular life in the Caucasus. In General, the early works of the artist in Russia remained slightly.

the work of Mary Raube-Горчилиной are in the Russian state Library, Pushkin Museum im. A. S. Pushkin, the State Russian Museum, Moscow Museum of modern art, Yaroslavl art Museum, historical-архитектурном and art Museum "New Jerusalem", the State Museum of art named after I. V. Savitsky in Nukus.
