16 – 18 September the Volga-Вятский branch of NCCA at the Armory will hold a festival of texts about art, "Vasari". This year's theme @- architecture and the text
the Festival of "Vasari" is held in early autumn in Nizhny Novgorod for the third time, and it is Russia's only festival devoted to texts about art. The relevance of the festival due to the need for the convergence of art and the viewer. Italian painter Giorgio Vasari of Arezzo (1511-1574), which is named in honor of the festival, was the first in human history, the author of a large body of texts about the work of artists and the founder of modern art history.
"VASARI-фест" is designed for a wide range of audience and readers. The aim of the festival "Vasari" — to present a range of professional texts on art ranging from academic research to artistic journalism. In 2016 it is expected the participation of leading educational institutions, specialized publishing houses and periodicals, network and television projects about architecture and related disciplines. The main focus of "VASARI-феста" — architecture as an art form and as a public institution.
the Festival includes three components:
· Book fair presented by books and presentations of leading Russian publishers;
· Professional platform with discussions, round tables, lectures and readings.
· Children's platform that represents the methods to popularize the art.
the Range of topics and issues of the festival — architecture as communication, Nizhny Novgorod architectural school 20 years later, the perception of history and Humanities baggage of the modern architect. Among the special guests of the festival — architectural critic Grigory Revzin, architect Yuri Grigoryan, editor of the magazine "Project Russia" Bart Goldhoorn, the critic Alexander Rappaport, journalist Yury Saprykin. Curators: Anna Gor, Eugene Asse.
