Opens Exhibition project "Presence time ", the exposure of which were black-and-white landscapes of northern Russia and Belarus follower Russian Nikolai Borisov pictorial school.

Climate complex areas of northern Russia have experienced steady decline since the mid XX century. Reducing logging and other resources have led to a drastic reduction of the rural population, and the economic crisis of the 1990s, urbanization and the natural aging of people have completed the process of extinction of the villages. Many of the monuments of wooden architecture lost, and preserved in need of protection and restoration.

Similar processes are affected lowland forest and riparian areas Belarus: endangered villages, remnants of old farmhouses, country roads back nature in pristine condition . In these places, time flows measured, it is present the fourth dimension, counting the change of seasons. Small wooden houses, past haystacks and fences collapsing among the majestic oaks and dense overgrown grass - do you'll never see.

What is left when you leave the place? The image generated by your memories and dreams, which had more sense than the parts, the presence of more intangible than the sharp lines and shapes. Do not focus on the little things, to simplify the composition, leaving only the essence of the story - that is the pictorial photography. It's not the hand-printing technique, using a soft-focus optics and images. Nikolai Borisov was able to do the most important thing in photography - to create more than just a mark, adding that same feeling invisible.

Nikolai Borisov is known for the use of individual manual techniques: optical printing via bitmaps toning. When shooting, he uses mostly monocles, periscopes and other soft-focus optics. In his works, an effect of the materiality of the time it becomes almost tangible and physically deposited in our memory.

Opening hours: July 3 - August 4, 2013, Wednesday - Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00.
