From February 28 to March 8th, 2009 Organizers XXVI Russian Antiquarian Salon will present a special project «The era of Nicholas I. Art Parade. Paintings, drawings and sculptures from private collections ». Curator - SA Podstanitsky.
Special Project XXVI Russian Antiquarian Salon will be devoted to one of the most unknown and, at the same time, the brightest so the history of Russian art - reflecting life in the army of domestic and foreign works of the masters of time the reign of Nicholas I.
The exhibition will be presented paintings by your favorite artists Nicholas I - F. Kruger , A. Ladyurnera , G. Schwartz, K. Schulz. Some of these paintings were bought by the emperor, and kept in his personal collection.
One of the most striking exhibits are the sculpture, representing the Black Sea Cossack horse, the work of B. Gazenberga. This graduate of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, a lifetime spent on the orders of Emperor Nicholas I and Alexander II, creating an image of various representatives of the Russian army. Several hundred of these sculptures were decorated with cabinets of the Emperor and his son, in Tsarskoe Selo - after the Second World War, there is neither one of them. Presented sculpture was kept in the daughter's collection of German Emperor Grand Duchess Olga, Queen of Württemberg, and most recently was again brought into Russia.
Another significant part of the exhibition - it is the portraits of military Mykolaivska era, performed by leading artists of his time - Vladimir Ivanovich Gau , M. Mikeshin , T. Wright, M. Terebenevym and others. It should be noted that many of these images have recently circulated on the antique market as «portraits of unknown», and then fall into the hands of researchers, have regained their names ...
