SLAVINSKY Art Gallery in St. Petersburg presents the exhibition «XVIII-XXI. The four-century Russian painting. Recorded time »from the private collection of Petersburg collectors. The task of the exhibition - to show the public the unique works of outstanding Russian artists held in private collections. The exhibition presents the work of Nicholas Roerich, Ivan Aivazovsky, Ilya Mashkov, Alexei Kharlamov, Peter Suhodolskogo, Vasily Vereshchagin and Philip Malyavina.

The project sought to build an exhibit, so that each picture served as an example complete phenomenon in Russian painting, beginning with the imitation of Italian painting school in the late XVIII century to the realism of the XIX century and the emergence of a new picturesque-culture plastic the beginning of the twentieth century. In a separate exhibition highlighted «fantastic realism» of our contemporary - artist Ivan Slavinski. The authors of the exhibition aim to show how its infancy, has been updated and artistic language of Russian art at the example of the classical genre, like portrait, landscape, still life, genre scenes. In addition to the masterpieces of the collection, confirmed the attribution of the Russian Museum and Tretyakov Gallery, the exhibition includes the work of unknown authors of interest to visitors.
