Yesterday in London, two more Russian art auction - bidding Macdougall's evening and day auction Sotheby's. The overall impression is: the buyers, of course, the economy, but did acquire the work, that is reason for optimism.

House of Macdougall's, founded in 2004, spent the evening trading for the first time. «Baptism of fire», it was not easy: of the 62 lots have gone a little less than 40 per cent. Today, the London auction runs Macdougall's, on post-war Russian art, but tomorrow will be day trading works by Russian artists of XIX - XX centuries.

Yesterday was also the day the auction Sotheby's (on the evening read here ). Tenders had 5.89 million pounds, with estimeyte 8.3 million. Buyers have found about 43 percent of the proposed 288 works.

Top-fathomable became «Shut» Mikhail Klodt, work was able to sell over 313 thousand pounds in the estimeyte of 180 thousand. It is followed by «Polyana» Ivan Shishkin (289 thousand, estimeyt - 200 thousand) and «Shtil» Ivan Aivazovsky (193 thousand, estimeyt 150-200 thousand).

At the auction also sold works of postwar art, among which was the most expensive cloth Oleg Oleg Tselkova «A man with a lemon ». It went with a large excess of estimeyta - 109 thousand pounds, with preliminary estimates of 50-70 thousand. Another top lot in this category, the work of «Rotation» Oleg Oleg Vasiliev , was sold for 97,2 thousand (estimeyt 80-120 thousand).

Total Sotheby's two days of auctions earned 21.9 million pounds. Today, auction houses hold auctions items of decorative art, books and manuscripts.
