Auction house Sotheby's will open another exhibition of top lots in the Kiev Museum of Western Art of Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko May 15 and in the Moscow Museum of Architecture named Shchusev May 23, according to a press release of the auction.

The exhibition will feature 23 top lot of Ukrainian and Russian masters of art of XIX and XX centuries, which will be exhibited at the Russian auction in London on 9 and 10 June.

CEO «Sotheby's Russia and CIS» Mikhail Kamensky explained that the Ukrainian collectors play an increasingly active role in the art market and the forthcoming exhibition, which will last until at Kiev on 18 May, is designed first and foremost on them. He also promised that this exhibition will be only the beginning of a series of events in which the Ukrainian collectors will be able to personally get acquainted with the best lots of auctions without leaving the country.

Director of Sotheby's Russian art in London, Joanna Vickery believes that we should not underestimate the influence of artists of Ukrainian descent in the art of Russia. According to her, came from Ukraine, such as Vladimir Baranov-Rossini, and Alexandra Exter, played an important role in the development of art the first half of the twentieth century.

Among the top lots London auction experts said the two paintings by Natalia Goncharova from private French collections: «Still life with fruit» (estimeyt 2-3 million pounds) and «Still life with red flowers and peaches» (1-1, 5 million pounds), early «impressionistic» picture of Mikhail Larionov «Autumn Twilight» (150-200 thousand pounds), and earlier, «school» the work of Marc Chagall «Allah» (1,4-1,8 million pounds).

a particularly interesting lots of trades and professionals identified the product of two Ukrainian, as they represent Sotheby's, the artists: a picture of Alexandra Exter «Girl and the birds» (450-650 thousand pounds) and canvas Vladimir Makovsky «Young Ukrainian» (25-35 thousand pounds).
