On 28 January in the "Cabinet" lots-миллионники as-то did not go, and the focus was quite different editions. In the end, except for the Psalter Andronicus Ignorant, over 55 % of the catalog was rescued 47.6% of the estimate

January 28, when all have returned from warm lands and the order missed the Moscow auction life auction house "Russian enamel" opened the season of 2017, full-time antiquarian auction "Rare books, autographs, photographs, postcards, paintings, and collectibles-прикладного art".

the Auction was held in conjunction with the program of the network of hotels "MARRIOTT" Exclusive Collection, and the auction was not in the usual the walls of the "Cabinet" on the Arbat, and in one of the halls of the hotel "MARRIOTT Aurora" that Peter lines.

the Catalog this time is quite consistent with the General level of the event. A list of the top-лотов made and rare books of the early XX century — for example, the layout of the failed publication of Alexei Remizov "Not much. The tale of Tsar Dodon" (lot 180), and unique editions of the XIX century — in particular, the magazine "Northern messenger" for 1805, containing the first escaped the destruction of the publication of an excerpt of the famous "Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow" A. N. Radishchev (lot 14), as well as a copy of the "Assembly of the remaining works of the late Alexander Radishchev" (1807-1811), whose circulation is almost entirely burned in the fire of Moscow in 1812 (lot 16), etc. a million rubles and above, the organizers previously estimated about 10 lots, but, looking ahead, we have to note that in new hands took only a couple of them.

But all in good time.

the Total numbers of the auction are as follows: 2.5 hours of the auction went under the hammer 182 of 330 (55 %) of the lots. The total amount sold in the hall (no of lot No. 1, which we will discuss below) amounted to 15,249 million rubles, or 47.6% of the average total estimate of the lots catalog.

the beginning of trading in the hall were about forty. At first everything went normally: the traditional "Littondale" pre-auction reception, elation, excitement after a long break in the auction graph. Guests were looking forward to drawing the first lot of the auction — previously unknown 25-го instance of the Psalter 1577, printed in Alexandrov Sloboda Andronik Timofeev Ignorant. But not here-то was: rare lot (a real sensation in the world of used books!) was withdrawn from the auction due to buy the lot before the auction.

As it became known later, the book was bought by the Museum-заповедника "Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda" for 2.5 million rubles. Congratulations to the auction house and the Museum — with the return of rarity home! However, the atmosphere in the hall is the removal of the lot from the sale is significantly cooled, and the first sale came only at the sixth lot, when at the start, without a struggle, into the hall for 30 thousand rubles left handwritten Catechism, Lawrence zizaniya, created in the second half of the XVIII century.

the First-настоящему interesting drawing the expected happened with the appearance at auction of one of the top-лотов — 12 monthly issues of the magazine "Northern Herald" in 1805, which was published the fragment "Journey fromSt. Petersburg to Moscow" A. N. Radishchev (lot 14). Starting the bidding at 100 thousand absentee rate, Internet and phone quickly raised the price to 170 thousand rubles, for which telephone party and won 5-8 part Radischevskaya novel.

Then consistently remained among unsold: four-volume "Collection of the remaining works of the late Alexander Radishchev" 1807-1811 years edition (lot 16, the start of the 2.5 million rubles); "painted" copy of the "Fables of Ivan Krylov" 1834 (lot 29, the start of 1.8 million rubles); "Collection of ninety-eight engraved on steel types for a panorama of St. Petersburg" Alexander Bashutsky (lot 30, the start of 1.3 million rubles); lifetime collection "Arabesque. Miscellaneous essays N. Gogol" (lot 33, start 1.3 million rubles); "uncut" copy of the almanac "Housewarming" (lot 43, starting 1.8 million rubles), four-volume complete works of Dostoevsky. 1865-1870 (lot 59, start 1.3 million rubles).

Real ray of light in the darkness of the failures of the first half of the trades are probably two outcomes. So, the first separate edition of the Comedy of A. S. Griboedov "Woe from wit", issued by Moscow printing house Aug Seeds in 1833 (lot 28), came up for auction with the start of 420 thousand rubles, and left with them for half a million rubles exactly that offered by the buyer on the phone. Another noticeable result was achieved in the course of trading for the four-volume "Narrative of Russia" N. S. Artsybashev (lot 35). In itself, not the hammer price 400 000 rubles rare book auctions especially you will surprise nobody, but if you add that it has been exactly 20 (!) times higher than the start, it becomes curious if it's not gambling, then what is so special about this edition?

By the end of the first hundred lots, all the strangeness over: hall gradually left the audience, and with it significantly increased the number of Internet-участников: the beginning of the draw 85-го lot for trades in real time watched (and actively participated) has 42.

the Internet, by the way, the organizers of the auction are required and the highest price of the day. For the collection of A. P. Chekhov "Plays: the Bear, the Proposal, Ivanov, Swan song, the Tragedian captive, the Seagull, Uncle Vanya" with the author's dedicatory inscription to the writer Elena M. YUST on the title page (lot 98) started to bargain with 1.3 million rubles by correspondence rate, and finished at a rate of 1.6 million rubles, proposed by one of the Internet-игроков.

After this transaction, things went smoothly: lots began to disperse with much greater intensity and effectiveness. Three times higher than the start, of 320 thousand rubles, the Internet has gone four-volume essay N. K. Schilder with 450 illustrations "the Emperor Alexander I. His life and reign" (1897-1898). Very well dispersed collection of postcards with reproductions of works by Russian artists of the late XIX — beginning of the XX century (lots 117 to 121).

By the end of the hundreds of lots took place the next large transaction via the Internet. Multiple online-участников clashed for the first edition of short stories composed of an independent author's book — book Ivan Bunin's "the Gentleman from San-Франциско. The works of 1915-1916 gg" autographed by author G. V. Plekhanov on the title page (lot 175). With a starting price of 600 thousand rubles, the book rose to 750 thousand rubles.

And after several decades lots suddenly intensified hall, three or four players in which with enviable persistence (and to the bitter end) challenged each other's right of possession of rare editions of the twenties (and wider — the first half of the) twentieth century.

the Second (and higher fitness) and the third the results of the day showed, so to speak, the paired publication. Briefly: in March 1922, was published without censorship permission and full printable poetry "Stagette" Nina Habeas-Комаровой (lot 212) and the response "the Seraphic charms" Ivan Gruzinova (lot 213), for which both the poet was arrested and spent several months in Butyrka prison. Both books, despite the extremely harsh reviews of his contemporaries, are now considered a desideratum of the Silver age.

so, the Petrograd edition of the collection "Stagette" 1922 Nina Habeas-Комаровой, 79-й (out of 100) instance deployed with the poetical autograph of the author on the last page, went to auction with a starting price of 500 thousand rubles by correspondence rate. Three participants in the hall in a protracted (after the intermediate price of the lot exceeded one million, rates have moved down half a step) the struggle raised the price to 1.55 million rubles, for which the edition went to the winner.

the Circulation of "Stichel" Nina Habeas and response "Seraphic suspensions", I. Gruzinova was confiscated, but, according to the compilers of the catalogue, a poem written by Gruzinova on the back of title of his book was probably composed in the Butyrskaya prison, after his arrest. Thus, the book can be considered a preserved miracle, as well as handwritten autograph Gruzinova on it. With 500 thousand rubles, start by absentee rate lot was shared between several participants in the room and got a new owner for 1.25 million rubles. This is the third result of the evening,

a Couple of dozen lots later, made his last in the evening a large purchase online: 750 thousand rubles paid, having bought the correspondence rate, the new owner of two handwritten letters of Anna Akhmatova in 1924, addressed to Ilya Ehrenburg (lot 233).

Rare tray edition 1934 "Working-крестьянская Red army" with illustrations by El Lissitzky and photo G. Zelmanovich, A. Shaikhet, M. Khan, etc. (lot 274) was the most expensive of those that were bought over the phone. The instance of the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland of Colonel Beck deployed with the autograph of Marshal of the Soviet Union K. E. Voroshilov on the half title with 500 thousand rubles start, in the struggle of several Internet-игроков and participants on the phone, went to one of the last 650 thousand rubles.

the ending of the directory was pleased with the active bidding on several lots of books and autographs of the poets of the second half of the twentieth century. So, 12 times higher than the start, for 24 thousand rubles to the new owner on the Internet got a book of poems, "Winter day" by Arseny Tarkovsky with the author's autograph (lot 317). Almost ten times more expensive than the starting price (60 thousand roubles), for 190 thousand rubleswas sold to a rare book "note fern" with the autograph of Joseph Brodsky (lot 319), published in Sweden in 1990. A little cheaper, for 120 thousand rubles went to the hall, in the same hands, published in Tallinn in 1991 a collection of Brodsky's Poems with the autograph of the poet, dated 1994-м year (lot 320, the starting price of 20 thousand rubles).

320 thousand rubles were sold on the phone tray, triple gold edge and 41 illustrate an essay by V. S. Krivenko, "Essays on the Caucasus. A trip to the Caucasus in the autumn of 1888" (lot 324, the starting price of 200 thousand rubles).

In the final string of auctions of contemporary art went under the hammer for just one job. Watercolor of Snegur "Abstract composition" (lot 325) was purchased by the user in the Internet at the start, over 12 thousand rubles.

Congratulations "Cabinet" with the opening of a full-time rare book of the season and wait for the next "book" of trades, which will be held in the usual place — in the main building of the "literary Fund" in Nizhny Kislovskiy pereulok very soon, on February 11, 2017.
