first artistic skills obtained in the Kharkov school. During the Russian-Japanese War, published in the newspaper "News" satires entitled "Diary of the ordinary", which was accompanied by his own drawings. Participated in exhibitions of local artists Mug in Kharkov (1900-1908). After high school he entered the Faculty of St. Petersburg University, then worked as a barrister of the judicial district of St. Petersburg Chamber.

In 1916 he left the practice, in order to fully devote himself to painting. In the same year he moved to Terioki in Finland, where they built a house and workshop. In 1918, met with I. Repin, soon became the intermediary for the sale of his paintings and organizer of exhibitions. From 1919 to 1930, gave more than fifty exhibitions Repin: in Helsinki, Amsterdam, The Hague, Hamburg, Vyborg, Prague, Brno, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Nice, Cannes and other European cities. Since 1922 he has exhibited at these exhibitions own work.

In 1930-1939 he lived in Paris. Participated in the exhibition of Russian art in the gallery "Druon" (1931). In 1939 he settled in Stockholm. He painted landscapes and still lifes, copied paintings of Repin.

Levy works are in several museum collections, including those in the Luxembourg Museum in Paris.
