Studied in MUZHVZ, IAH - Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1891-1897) in Repin's studio. During the years of study was awarded a small (1893) and large (1894) silver medals. In 1896, assisted in the work of Repin's portrait of Nicholas II for the Transfiguration of the regiment. In 1897, for the painting "Burning Avvakum received the title of the artist and the right to a pensioner's trip abroad. In 1898-1899 - retired IAH.

lived in St. Petersburg. He worked as a historical painter, genre painter. In 1896-1897 he taught at the school-studio Tenisheva in St. Petersburg from 1899 - in plaster-class figure VHU.
