place of middle-class families. In 1905-1911 he studied at the Odessa Art School, after which received the recommendation for admission to the IAH. In September of that year adopted a Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH, but in December ruled out, since the number of Jewish students could not exceed three percent of the total number of listeners.

was drafted into the army, served as a private 175-th Baturnskogo Regiment. After demobilization in 1912, re-enlisted in the IAH as an auditor. In 1918 participated in an exhibition of paintings and sculptures by artists of the Jews in Moscow, in 1919, received 1 st prize at Art Competition "Great Russian Revolution. In 1922 he exhibited work at the International Book Exhibition in Florence.

In mid 1920 he emigrated, settling in the U.S., where he quickly gained fame. Held solo exhibitions in galleries in the Marie Sterner (1927, 1928, 1929, 1931) and "Middletown" (1940) in New York. He painted landscapes, portraits and genre scenes. He was a member of the Brooklyn Society of Artists. In 1930 he taught at the school's own studio. During his artistic work was awarded 2 nd Prize Haris and a bronze medal at the Art Institute of Chicago (1932), 3rd Prize of the Museum Worcester (1933).

Creativity Simhovicha represented in several museum collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the National Museum in Krakow, and others.
