he Studied at the Imperial Academy of arts (1878-1888) П. П. Чистякова. During the years of study was awarded a small silver (1880, 1883) and large silver (1884) medals. In 1887 за program "Priam asking Achilles Hector's body" received a small gold medal, in 1888 for the program "Socrates in prison before his death (Last moments of Socrates)" was awarded a large gold medal, the title of class artist of 1 degree and a pensioner's trip abroad. In 1888-1894 — pensioner of the iakh.

he Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd), 1895-1899 — Rostov-на-Дону. Historical painter, portraitist. Author paintings: "Rizpah guarding the crucified children" (1892), "the old Man" (1894), "Portrait of Mr. L." (1896), "Girl", "Portrait Н. А. Сапожниковой".

From 1892 — participated in exhibitions. Exhibited in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1892-1894), the Society of Russian watercolorists (1895, 1899), society of artists of historical painting (1895) in St. Petersburg and Moscow; the all-Russia industrial and art exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896).

he Taught at founded Classes of painting and drawing Я. С. Гольдблата in St. Petersburg (Petrograd), who received a grant of the Imperial Academy of arts and had the status of preparatory classes; among students — Г. К. Лукомский, А. Е. Яковлев, П. М. Лебедев, В. Д. Бубнова, О. Ф. Амосова-Бунак, В. М. Юстицкий, А. Н. Самохвалов, Р. М. Идельсон and others.
