the State center for contemporary art next week opens an exhibition of contemporary Western artists — Paul McCarthy, Damien Hirst, bill viola, George Condo, etc.

Rooted in the European languages the Greek-латинское word mystification meant ordination to the sacrament. Over time it has acquired a different meaning: deception, attributing what-либо the subject of supernatural properties, intentional misrepresentation. The hoax as a creative technique, known in different periods of history of art in twentieth - — twenty-first century becomes one of the dominant artistic practices.

the Exhibition "Mystification" in the NCCA built on the display of the chosen number of works by artists of different generations whose art is characterized by the transformation of reality and the production of non-existent models. Demonstrating mutations of the modern world, artists emphasize the importance of continuity of the leading currents of the twentieth century — Dadaism, surrealism, conceptualism, simulationism — for art practices of the early XXI century.

the Exhibition raises the topic of "hoaxes" on the example of works by famous artists such as Barbara Kruger, Damien Hirst, Tony Matelli, WIM Delvoye, George Condo, Paul McCarthy, Tony Oursler, bill viola, yasumasa Morimura, Keiichi Tanaami, Peter Saul, Erwin Wurm and Joel-Питер the Witkin. The works of the artists represented in the project through various artistic techniques and creative strategies to immerse the viewer into a surreal space of fantastic illusions, great or terrible dreams, of invented worlds and other-worldly "civilizations".

the Exhibition "Mystification" was created in collaboration with the gallery Gary Tatintsian. From 26 December 2015 to 1 March 2016 Gary Tatintsian gallery shows the first part of the project "Mystification" — "Mutated Reality" ("Mutated reality"). The exhibition presents the work of Francis bacon and Carroll Dunham, Chuck close, Peter Saul, George Condo, KAWS and Malcolm Morley, the installation of Mike Kelly and Tony Matelli.
