In the Jewish Museum and tolerance center opened an exhibition of 34 artists from Russian museums and private collections. The exhibition — the first Russian avant-garde, the second Russian avant-garde, Moscow conceptualism and Sots-арт

the Jewish Museum and tolerance center, opened the exhibition "the Contemporaries of the future. Jewish artists in the Russian avant-garde. 1910 - 1980-е".

Works by 34 artists from Russian museums and private collections are presented in three sections, gradually showing the development of Russian art of the twentieth century: "the First Russian avant-garde" (1910-30), "Second avant-garde" (1956 - 1970), and "Moscow conceptualism and Sots art" (1970-80-е).

the Exhibition opens with works by artists of the first half of the twentieth century - Marc Chagall, Nathan Altman, El (Lazar) Lissitzky, Robert Falk, Alexander Tischler, Solomon Yudovin, Solomon Nikritin and other Creative pursuits of this generation, its focus on issues of national identity were a response to the denial of the very existence of Jewish art. However, in the works of these artists ideas of this art was embodied in the dialogue and in the context of the program of Russian avant-garde. Thus, they made a great contribution to development of Russian art culture@

the Second wave of avant-garde came after Stalin's death, with the advent of the first experiences of international artistic exchange. The movement of so-called "second avant-garde" has emerged as an alternative to Soviet officialdom and attracted by Jewish artists the opportunity to develop and Express itself freely. Oscar Rabin, Vladimir Yakovlev, Mikhail Grobman, Vladimir Yankilevsky, Shteinberg and other representatives of this group sought to the visual analysis of reality and to the destruction of forms of official art. This led to the discoveries, which Russian art after a long break again became part of the international art process@

the Artists of the Moscow conceptualist school, including Ilya Kabakov, Erik Bulatov, Vitaly Komar, Alexander Melamid, Irina Nakhova, Yuri albert - took up the study and deconstruction of Soviet reality and artistic schemes, making this area was an important contribution of Russia in international contemporary Iskusstvo@
